What do you think, not even worth buying one to try?

high levels of natural acidity - 8% of the free run juice was fermented in French Oak barriques and hogsheads for a very short time only to increase complexity and mouthfeel. A tiny proportion of this wine went through a natural wild yeast fermentation which contributed an extra dimension of depth to the final blend Snowing here, been clearing it off the cars, otherwise I would've come in to this thread earlier. Yeah GK, old world 'best Loire' technique from d'Arenberg, so I can see now, why you wanted at least to see what the wine is all about. A respected producer. I'd be curious GK, Do you know those guys in the Co-Op enough to say "I'll advise you if it has gone over the hill, but I'd like my £4 back when I'm next in the store ? The logic here is:- that the manager should advise customers, and the manager should have to give refunds - but you will audit the wine for them for free, and call back on the phone if it is dreadful

Duncan, this store is near my work, I've mentioned before on here how this store has plenty of old whites gathering dust, really poor stock control I think. You're right, based on a number of factors I was tempted just to see how it is, might still get one as curiosity usually gets the better of me. Woke up to snow, rain has now cleared it away. BTW, did you or Bacchus see this programme? Very interesting, the guy on the indian made me think of B whizzing around the country lanes on his bike. |

Sadly, you are using the wrong tense. Some rat nicked it Tues night. Has been recovered with substantial bodywork and electrics damage. Due to age, probably a write-off. Lots of my nails, skin and blood in there. New chain and cogs a few months ago and all new brakes (including 1 disc) last year. Bah! |

Why would you buy an Australian sb ? I can't help myself, but you ? This wine ( different vintage ) is rich, austere and hard work in a dull Bordeaux kinda way. 4 years bottle age could have given it some fascinating flavours though but even at £4 I could walk past this. |

Fair enough, but how often do we encounter 'fascinating flavours' in our budget range? Sorry to hear about your ride B, nothing is sacred these days. |
