Just grabbed 3 bottles of Comte de Brismand champers at £9.99 per. Some good comments around.
Best wishes to all for Xmas and the new (not so rainy I hope) year.

Shoosh, MrB. Rain in winter brings warm temps and lower heating bills. In 2013 I shall be mostly drinking 2012 Southern Valleys MSB. VM WR is top dog so far and proper lovely to boot but it will be interesting to see how JE and SC compere.

As for cheap Champers. No turkey should give it's life for such twaddle....*

Happy C/NY to all.

* We're having Angus beef and rosemary and garlic coated chicken......but that's not the point.

Festive Favourites, a topic that seems almost irrelevant in some parts of the country this week. Think of the folks whose homes are awash with deep mud and flood water.

Jack Frost is being kind, but Saint Swithen is getting his own back with a cruel vengence. It feels like 2 inches every day in my back yard, I empty the pots and containers down the drain each morning, I need wellies in my garden !

My message is, that we beg the Gods to bring clement and normal seasonal conditions back to this soaked little Island. My best wishes and kind thoughts have to be reserved for those who are clearing up all the mess and trying to dry out their homes.

Still, despite it all, I'm raising my glass to all the sports men and women at the Olympics who demonstated that little Ole Blighty is made a pretty tough stuff.

Happy Crimble and New Year to all.

The other day I was looking at the rain radar pics on Google Earth.
There was a splodge by the great lakes, and a teeny smidgen in the Pyrenees. Nothing else whatsoever over the N Atlantic, the whole of N.Africa, Scandinavia, or the rest of Europe and the middle east...except a massive swathe covering the whole of the UK.

Like-for-like retail sales for Jan '13 / '12 were up 1.9% - this was mainly due to rocketing demand for inflatable boats and wellington boots.
