Tried ordering a case of two Musar reds they have in stock.

Payment got blocked for some reason saying I would get called to take payment over the phone etc.

Nothing !! emailed them back asking for an update ?? nothing.

Have now cancelled this order.
Not amused one bit !! Last time I try them out !!

Ha ! They did that to me a couple of times. It seems that their software can't cope with anything but 'perfect'.
I had mis-punched some detail of my card, and instead of asking for a re-try, it just fell over.
My nearest branch did ring me though.

Awful service, if I treated any of my customers like this I would have none by now.
No call, just got a email reply saying my order has been cancelled at my request so at least they got that right.

Truely shocking how you guys cope with their CS is amazing to me.
Are they just as bad in the store or do they actually care ?
Put me off totally

Data protection for online transactions does counter legitimate and helpful customer services - new FSA rules have been designed to protect those with a very low IQ (absolutely no inference here Rich). Do Majestic actually say they will contact you for a Card transaction failure ? I've not seen it.

When buying Online, I must tell you that Parcel Force employed to deliver, do not carry a mobile phone to check, and say on their tracking summary, that delivery was refused ! Hmmnn. Whilst Ocado delivery people do phone ahead on the mobile, and do email when delayed.

You could do your Majestic Manager a big favour - let him know exactly what has transpired, and earn yourself a bottle for your trouble. Suggest it ? You know that I get very good service from the store manager.

Customer service offered by the big firms, for Online business has deteriorated - no argument with that.

Dunc,
Email saying I will be contacted to discuss payment and a delivery time etc.
No contact at all what a waste of my time, I have learned a hard lesson listening to others.
I can honestly say this is the worse experience in my 15 years of buying wine.
Not amused one little bit.

Perhaps a £200 order is small to them?
now spent on some nice Italian reds.

Damn, I didn't post this today:

Ocado are offering Brunello di Montalcino, Casa di Baldassi 2005 for £15.99 (less 33.3%) would that have interested you ? I don't know Brunello producers, so can't say if that wine could have been a proper bargain.

I have found their deliveries to be timely and the delivery personnel friendly.
In store however, any intercourse is impossible due to the 'disco' muzac from uncouth radio station(s). Dunc says that his branch doesn't have this noise pollution. I'd love to be able to have a quiet browse and root around in any of my 3 stores but I find the racket unbearable.

Thanks for the heads up, have you had any older vintages from them ?

Dunc, another false offer sorry to say.
TEE. Has the 04 at £15.00.
Will pass on this even given the vintage.
Might be best bought in store to check out.

Totally understand your frustration - Majestic do need a good b*ll*cking for not serving Corton grand cru properly ! Apart from anything else.

Rich, I'm not plugging the stock available at Ocado at all. But they do try to deliver, and occasionally they have some gems, like the Beronia 2006 reserva at less £10, when everyone else had the '07 and generally for more dosh.

The Tuscan summer in 2005 was rather hot and very dry, rains came at slightly the wrong time. Purists may say that the '05 Brunello di Montalcino could be a bit overblown or a bit baked - I'm not experienced, and it is about producers, as well as terroir in general. My note of the third-off is to help folks make a buying decision at this time for Christmas, not a tease.

BTW, enjoy your '02 Lagrange on Christmas day, you have a very lovely wine lined up for poultry.

Dunc, have ordered before from Ocado and found them OK.
Lagrange is a house favourite and have vintages going back to 89, no early 1990`s left though all gone.
As ever though Dunc always a spare room with something nice to share with a log fire if you are ever passing this way.

Rich, charming offer. You know, I'd have to dig very deep into my collection to bring a burg to share, that held the stage amongst all your claret players. Enjoy them, make sure.

Rich, sorry to hear things going pear shaped with Majestic

I personally have found the service at my local stores to be excellent
Staff are always very helpful, chatty and friendly
I've never personally noticed the music that Ba mentions but it may be something his store does.

If you have a store local id suggest you pop in and have a chat and a look around and as Duncan suggested mention to them the problems you had online
