Gregg Wallace of Masterchef opens a restaurant, Greggs Table, to poor reviews. Ouch! I'm now looking forward to the day a contestant replies- 'If you think that's bad, you should eat at your place!'' |

Egad sirra! Some cracking phrases in there, and so many in one review. Almost a waste...but not quite. I shall file them for future use in ad lib quick wit and repartee. Can someone head-hunt him into wine appreciation ? |

Yep, I'm gonna knick a few as well. Wallace models his approach to filling the mouths of his clients on Laurence Olivier’s dentist in Marathon Man. I wouldn’t say that Gregg’s Table is abysmal, but I’ve had more pleasure from root canal work 'Egg head Greg was better at the fruit & veg business, he's jumped out of his hobnail boots off the cobbles at Spitalfields, and reckons he can now hack-it in the City' For all the teasing, the TV show is a hit, and paying the bills, you can't knock that John Torode is the chef, With another series, he should be able to afford another restaurant guru. That's if City business rates don't get him first. His dining space ambience sounds like a Fisher-Price Legoland hybrid. TBF.....I haven't been to his place - So, for all I know, it could be perfectly OK. |
