Quote:
Its own-brand Spanish Toro Loco Tempranillo from 2011 excelled in blind taste tests alongside reds costing nearly ten times as much......

It was up against a 2005 bottle of red Costa di Bussia Riserva DOCG, which is priced at £31.

Also in the running was the esteemed Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, which has a £30 price tag.

Dunc,

I dont get down that part of town very often so thought what can I lose buying 6 ?? Plus the cases were put right by the tills for extra visibility.

Can always cook with it I guess, I have a funny feeling though it will be a good slugger.

A Half case is right. Rich, I'm of the same opinion - Yeah, a Glugger - Heatwave here..... knowing the Tempranillo / Valencia style, one could probably serve this pretty cool as well

Two bottles over the weekend.

Good fresh blackcurrant/cherry with a sharp note coming though with a touch of pepper on the finish.
Decent length reminded me of a CDP entry level wine on the finish (Grenache)
smooth silkiness .

Strange though that both Sunday and Monday morning I have a banging head ??
Not sure if lack of water over the weekend as the wife was away on holiday so only intake was coffee and wine ??

Will I buy more ?? probably not still got four left which I might leave until next spring time.

Good value at £3.59 you just cant complain at that price.

I'll pick one up when Im next passing a store, if they have stock.

For what its worth, I've been drinking very little wine of late, I'm back into beer at the moment. I've noticed I have a clearer head overall and sleep better.

BTW, my grapevine survived the move Dunc, just coming into flower again.

What did I say  If you can grow parsnips as big as truncheons, you can grow anything on that there land. The extra wet spring helped like mad.

For once, and I was testing the vines reaction to trad methods, I clobbered mine like they do in the pictures of the 30 year old vines. Yep,right down to the brown knobbled and knarled branches, every thing skinny was pruned off.

It has sprung with middle finger width heads on shorter joints and thicker leaders - Pleased ? yeah - now I must restrict the numers to get bigger fruits - We'll see wot 'appens next.

Had two pints of draft Old speckled hen on the Thames for Sunday lunch plus good grub of course. But I'm a wine consumer these days - cant take too many pints, I'm getting-on -a-bit for pints
