Are you interested in this? Waitrose is celebrating the fifth year of the British Beer Showcase by running a 4-for-3 promotion on selected beers from 12th October until 8th November. The showcase highlights a diverse range of over 70 British beers, including several which are exclusive to the supermarket’s award winning collection. In the last year Waitrose has introduced a number of new British beers, including the Duchy Originals from Waitrose Organic Golden Ale. As Britain plays host to some of the greatest brewers in the world, the showcase is an excellent opportunity to try home grown beers. Highlights include: Duchy Originals From Waitrose Organic Golden Ale, 500ml £1.89 This is a new partner for our hugely successful Duchy Originals from Waitrose Organic Old Ruby Ale. Brewed to an exclusive recipe, it comes from the home of UK brewing, Burton-upon-Trent, and is crafted at Marston’s brewery. Marston’s were founded in 1834 and this golden ale is made using a traditional craft-beer method. A refreshing light ale, it is brewed with British Organic Fuggles and Goldings hops, specially selected for their delicate fruity flavour, malted Organic British barley and a small amount of Organic British wheat to deliver a refreshing finish. Skinner’s Bitter Betty Stogs, 500ml £1.95 Skinner’s is an independent family owned brewery based in Truro in Cornwall. In just 14 short years they have won more regional and national awards than any other South West brewer. Betty Stogs is their flagship ale and previous winner of coveted CAMRA Champion Best Bitter of Great Britain Award. Skinner’s Brewery insists on using 100% Cornish barley grown on three local farms. This premium quality barley is then malted in Warminster by the oldest maltsters in the UK. St. Peters Mild, 500ml £1.70 St. Peter’s Brewery is based in rural north Suffolk in an historic moated Hall. The award-winning range of St. Peter’s beers are brewed using the finest ingredients - local East Anglian malts and British hops. Their water is drawn from their own deep source with the chalk layer way below St. Peter’s Hall and is ideal for brewing. Light in hops but by no means flavour, this mild is made with Challenger and Goldings hops, with a sweetness counterbalanced by a bitter local East Anglian malt to produce a rare, much sought after traditional beer. The distinctive oval bottle is a copy of one dating back to 1770, giving additional character to a mild that already stands out from the crowd.
