End of season wine sale.

Edited- Pricing now reduced, although the sale link still only shows x3 whites its best to use the standard search tool, there are some interesting discounts. One to watch.

GK - Prices are on the up, now that the holidays have been paid for, and are out of the way

Of the three on offer, it would help if M&S spelt the designation of this southern white burgundy correctly ! Vire'-Clesse.

There is a mix up with case size on the page ! Now £62.95 for six which is £10.49 and £1.50 less than the Majestic offer at the moment. This is for the 2009, a good vintage for white southern burg.

Selected by Paul Sapin's bottling and filtering plant - Paul Sapin has put his name to Fleurie in the past, one that I know ! I've googled his link http://www.paul-sapin.com/equipe_en.html.

As usual they say the selection process is:
The wines that we market are the object of a strict
selection procedure. This is probably why we are
often awarded distinctions during wine-tasting
competitions. And because we know that
the quality of the relations set up with producers
is an essential element of our own quality,
we establish long-term, solid, balanced partnerships
with them.

I wouldn't mind trying the wine though, it could be quite good.

As ya know , good Sir - Wine prices are leaping about, whether they will settle down a bit ? Is a question I can't answer

The wine is reduced to £7.87 a bottle plus delivery.

edited today - when checking out this Epinet version of V-C. Nothing on the web of any note. The Majestic wine is a Dom Cordier cuvee and in a different league I suspect.

Hmmm....strange.

P.Sapin has connections with the Febvre mob and is championing ½ and ¼ plastic bottles.

Yeah here is the packaging stuff:

Although we can be sure that 75 cl bottles are here to stay,
we can also be certain that other bottle sizes also have a bright
future. Quick bites to eat, sometimes alone, at the office,
on a train or a plane, life led at a hectic pace… all these facts
have led us to innovate and provide the delicious, fruity quality
wines that consumers want to enjoy, in bottles of all sizes.
From individual portions to 75 cl bottles
for a drink with friends, we market a very wide range of wines
from France and the New World selected from among the best
producers. These are bottled on our premises using a tried
and tested process, so that our wines keep all their intrinsic
qualities and can be consumed anywhere. A new approach
to wine has been developed, a subtle alliance of quality,
innovation and boldness, that gives fresh impetus to Paul Sapin
with its history spanning more than a century.

Thierry Coulon, Oenologist, Chairman
and Managing Director of Paul Sapin

Just noticed at the top of the Web page when looking at their offers

There is a change of policy for Delivery of Wines bought on-line at Marks & Spencers

If I'm not mistaken - There is now free delivery to a list of stores for regions of the country. Do they call, or email when the shipment has arrived ? No ? The idea is to choose a time slot. If you cant make it on the day - you must call them.

When I last checked this out - wines were excluded.

Wine is excluded.

I seem to recall that my store was offering free home d/y on dozens. Will confirm soon.

I'm "sure" that there was a free d/y offer recently , but must have been short-term. Not aavailable now.
