A nice red I bought back from Portugal last year, Castello D'Alba '09.

Back from my highland trek, just a few midge bites and blisters, the memories will last much longer.

What have I missed?

I've been away for 10 days in Greece.
Crackalickin weather, wine not so up to scratch but still had a great time away
Tribs has been offline too so fairly quiet on the quaffers front

the memories will last much longer Nice work GK.

We've just thrown a dinner party, for a couple who are our best mates

The VM Clifford Bay 2008 was wonderful with smoked salmon (endorsed by Goose) actually at this stage, the best 2008 MSB I have ever drunk with a starter.

The Margaux, Marquis de Terme 2003 cru classe’ was very ripe, very full and very easy – if anything, a bit soft, not enough structure.

However, I believe.....

The Domaine Servin, Chablis 2008 1er cru Vaillons was the star of the evening. Wonderful and beautiful wine, minerality was truely exceptional, the freshness and verve were extraordinary. No oak with this one, yet the wine had incredible depth and length. Taut and defined, very trendy indeed.

Yep, we enjoyed our wines, with brilliant home cooking, courtesy of Mrs D this evening, and these wines were all bought for reasonable money. The Margaux was an import, yet the QPR for all of these wines was outstanding.

The Dom Servin 2008 1er cru, best Chablis this year.

Enjoy the rest of your week-end folks
