popped into my local y'day to try and pick up some more Vav for Mrs Shez but none in stock

the tasting counter had The King's Favour 2010. Brent Marris' new vineyard.
Had a quick sample and have to say it was very nice. Might go and pick some up while it's on offer for £9.99 with the new 20% off NZ offer that began today
Bob rates it 92 pts
Can't say I picked up any of the mentioned lemongrass myself that I know will deter GG from giving this a go

so for Mr Goose: I saw this on the shelf and thought I might bring it to your attn incase you've not been there before St Clair Wairau Reserve

they also have the very highly rated Greywacke MSB on offer (93pts from Bob - but LG mentioned again in his notes)

Both might be worth a dabble to pop in celebration of when Cardiff gain promotion to the Prem this season....

Thanks, Shez.

The 09 Wairau Reserve is down to £17.99. Have phoned the Cadiff Maj to reserve a couple. Will also get some more PB19 as am absolutely lovin' it. I expect the SC WR to be a richer version of PB's. Hopefully the flavour will be so intense I will still enjoy them.

I haven't really enjoyed anything Brent Marris has done since the 02 vintage of Wither Hills. The King's Favour gave me a headache just reading the tasting note.

I will give the 2009 Greywacke and the 2010 Cloudy Bay a go at some point. Winedirect are selling the 09 Greywacke for more money than the 2010 which suggest that the 09 was a corker and still drinking well.
