Wonderful welcome, excellent road surfaces ( paid for by speeding fines?) St Arvan's today and coffee at Tintern. Good homely food, lovely people. Biker paradise, but the Feds really hate us.

My favourite place in the South Eastern corner is Chepstow. One of the best castles in all of the UK. A racecourse. Plenty of pubs and places to eat. A bit grotty compared to say the Vale of Glamorgan or some of the Gloucestershire villages but it suits me.

Just realised that I've gone through, and stopped in, Chepstow dozens of times but never been down to the castle. Never seen it. Will go next time.

Just had a great weekend camping near Ross on Wye, capsized our canoe on the river (wife and daughter very wet and not impressed :oops: ) and got smashed at a sausage and cider festival. Fantastic weather.

All in all a cracking weekend.
