2005 Chanson Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Teurons - 4 hectares central position, good micro climat there.

The guys on cellartracker liked it when not ready. '05 is probably the most firm and yet fruity for several decades.

I have found a source of the '05 for £200 a case and am seriously thinking of taking at least 6 for 2014 - 15 or so.

With inflation and also the Far East forcing up silly prices, this may be the last chance of taking affordable Beaune wiith good keeping properties for quite a long time.

Regarding Goose's thread, Nick Potel is fine, he had a knack of finding small but good parcels that the big producers could not deal with, and then making half decent wine with it. But now that he has changed direction - I wonder.... his own domaines aren't going to be as good. He can't afford those plots in the favoured vineyards.

Reading between the lines ? - Dodgy - I not going to rely on past performance.
