Chaps,

Just purchased two 6 packs of two German Producers I havent sampled before but have been informed they are right down my street in taste/weight etc.

Has anyone tried any 2009 German whites yet ??

The two Producers are,
Robert Weil Kab 09
Gunter Künstler Kab 09.

Yep, this, this, and the Fritz's Gunderloch which was a bit too zingy for me.

Not sure any post on this site should start with "Chaps". No to the 2009 Germans.

Or Chap'ess for that matter  .

Rich, chaps are wot the ladies get on their peep toes, when all gussied-up in their finery, arrive for New Year's Eve and find a foot of snow on the ground when they climb out of the car.

But referring back to the subject matter, what do the reports say of the '09 vintage in Germany ? I know nothing of these, however one can't do all regions, it is just impossible to cover the ground.
You probably did some research before buying your case, so enlighten us if you have a mo - please..... or leave a link

Chaps and Lady, (hope thats better)

Germany have had a great run of Excellent vintages since 2000.

I love 2001 & 2007 the best though.(hoping they turn into a 91 or 93 with time on the Spat/Aus)

Research yes Robert Viel is the only producer in the whole of Germany to produce every level of wine for the last decade plus.
Highly rated as well, I guess like a Montrose in French terms. (dont quote me on that though) Google the name it comes up straight away with plenty of data)
Starting on Kab`s first as these will be drinking now and will let me gauge both producers before I move into the top wines.

Gunter was more of a gamble on some basic info on google and my friends rec.

2009 like France has been hyped up but then Germany has had 10 vintages on the trot from Excellent to amazing.

And not expensive either to boot !!
Regards
Richard

I feel that we might need to define "expensive". I see that their TBA is over £6,500 per bottle.

Ouch !! not with my budget !!

Around the £12.00 mark which I think is pretty decent for (hopefully) an excellent vintage/producer. The Gunter was a bit cheaper though.

Might be a typo on the site that I looked at, they may have meant £65.00.
Where did you get these?

On this occasion via a merchant in Germany, I usually buy direct though.

I am sorting out a large order for my favorite German producer this week.

They are so friendly and helpful its so easy !! also had Tyrel the main man phone me up last year which was a shock.

Are you a fan ?
