Taylor’s launches scionport.com for its rare pre-Phylloxera Port It might be one of the oldest and rarest Tawny Ports to be released this year, but that hasn’t stopped Taylor’s Scion embracing modern technology with a new website http://www.scionport.com dedicated to this very rare Port. Divided into four chapters, the website tells the story of Scion’s journey from its origins in a private cellar in the Douro Valley in 1855 to the present day when Taylor’s acquired two casks and moved them to its lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. The quality was deemed to be so outstanding, that Scion was created to capture this rare bit of vinous history for Port enthusiasts and collectors. Scion remains one of the only pre-Phylloxera Ports to survive in cask for over 150 years in perfect condition so it’s not surprising that specialist retailers have jumped on the band wagon to acquire this exceptional and rare find to offer to their customers. Available at £2,500 each at specialist wine outlets such as Nickolls & Perks, Fine & Rare, Farr Vintners, Bordeaux Wine Investments and Harrods, Scion is packaged in a bespoke crystal decanter in a beautiful wooden box reminiscent of its 19th Century origins. It is also available through UK agents, Mentzendorff & Co on 020 7840 3600. |

I know, slightly on the expensive side. Talking of which, I saw Burlesque last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice for the boys to watch I imagine as there's a lot of naked flesh for a 12a. |
