Just popped into Sainsbury's to get some Kanonkop Kadette 2009 and saw some 2 for £10 offers of which I bought

Villa Maria 2010 NZ SB (£9.49)

Roc de Lussac St Emilion (£13.99)

The Roc de Lussac is usually very tannic and poor quality and much better wines out there for £6-7.00.

Is this the 2009 ?? let me know your thoughts.

Oh dear....still, at least it sounds nicer than the VM PB.

Can MSB be any more hard work and unpleasant.

14 quid for the Roc de Lussac is absurd. Sains knock 40% off it regularly to move it. Its another one of these Yonne Mau jobbies. The '09 will be much better than past vintages, so, when they knock 40% off and then it's an additional 25% off for six week as well, you can get this wine for £6.30 which is about right.

wow, what a bargain hunter. Did I make a mistake by not waiting?

I didn't think about hanging on for those offers. I just rushed in willy nilly and bought two bottles for £10 instead :)

Its the 2009 vintage and I'll have it tonight.

The Lussac has been a regular half-price phony for years, worth a fiver in a good year.

Had both.

The St Emilion is a decent claret, albeit a trifle young.

Villa Maria is a nicely quaffable NZ SB. I could have done with a smidgen more acidity but Mrs Pontac enjoyed it greatly.
