It's here again. 6 months after Duncs summer solstice dark rituals, my string has become taught and I start to wind the sun back in again. Will have a drink to celebrate.

Indeed, thoughts are turning to next years crop, beds are well fed, nature is doing the rest.

I have aquired a large cold frame from one of the old boys who no longer uses it, just needed a bit of fixing-up, some glass replacing, good as new. In position and well fed thanks to neighbours horses. Large enough for an army of courgettes and next years pumpkins.

Lunar eclipse

I did take a quick look, from the patio at the back, in my dressing gown, I was drinking tea in bed at 6:55, the sky was full of cloud, I needed to be on the roof to see the aura, if indeed, I could see through that grey blanket. Radio 4 advised us of course. The moon is very low in the sky from this latitude

Pity, last seen in 1638

The Summer solstice coincided with Gevrey Chambertin 1999 here in my garden - you remembered it Bacchus, I'm so touched.
