Online. I don't know if this extends in store.

I'm sure Mel will confirm?

For the fizzy fans, you might be interested to know that Sainsburys have reduced Laurent P Vintage(2000 I think) from £39.99 to £29.99
Make a bottle part of a case of 6 and you're paying £22.49 !
Certainly sounds like a bargain

And the Ravenswood Lodi Zindindel comes in at £5.24 a bottle...good fireside stuff.

think I'm gonna pop in tonight on the way home but mainly for xmas gift purposes rather than my own collection

(although I might have to add one or 2 bottles for myself to make it to the 6 bottle discount ;))

For any of you thinking to take further advantage of the offer, it ends today so hurry to your local stores

I picked up 3 more graham's crusted for Xmas gifts, 1 Taylor's 10yo tawny (Incase Mel does come round for Xmas dinner ;)) and 2 bottles of Yali Carmenere

You did very well Shez,

No Graham's Crusted '02 port at my mega Sains. I found the empty shelf, and was half an hour late home for supper at 9:00pm on account of asking the guys to go into the stock room to check...none there.

I did find a few gems though.

2 x '08 Meursault, vieilles vignes, Closerie des Alisiers (£19.99) less £5 less 25% = :)
3 x '07 Tain Crozes Hermitage "Les 3 Lys" double disco to £4.86 each
1 x '08 Yali chilean Carménère at double disco, since 25% off before 14th December
1 x '08 Sains TTD hautes côtes de Beaune (the Last one) double disco from (£8.99/7.99) to £4.49.

So whilst no crusted - I'm content enough. The Meursault was hidden right at the back at the bottom of the fine wine, and stood up ! Staff hiding stuff ?
The Crozes jumbled with ordinary cotes du rhone, only three and again, right at the back ! Staff hiding again ?

It was hard work finding that stuff. Only the Yali was easy, and I'm jolly glad that Mel had said it would pass muster.

Ha ha ....on my till slip they have spelt the wine as:- Meurseault ...you'd have thought that someone in data processing would 'ave ....

Good catch there, Duncan. Especially the double disco'd Meursault and Cotes de Beaune. Bargains. I'm really glad that Sainsburys run their 25% off any 6 alongside their current offers.

I picked up a couple more of the Crusted Port for gifts and the Tain Crozes L3L. I did want some Ravenswood Zin but my local stores don't stock it. Nor the Yali Carmenere, so I've missed out there. :(

Possibly for the best.

I agree, it is strange.

As mentioned in another post my local is a mega Sainsburys (the biggest in the UK apparently) yet is doesn't have a fine wine section and doesn't have the Laurent P vintage and doesn't even have the Tain Crozes....

Fotuntately it did have the Yali but in general, the selection seems to be the bottom - middle of road stuff

The other regular sized sainsburys store I use does have a small fine wine section and did stock the LP vintage but then doesn't have much selection for the middle of the range stuff

both fortunately had a reasonable stock of ports on the shelves

The two nearest stores, the wine aisles have shrunk considerably, so there is very little choice. There is one near the office which has far better choice. It is in a more expensive area, so that may have something to do with it.

Unfortunatley I have not been in the office for over a week, partly due to the weather and it is too far to travel if I am not spending the whole day there.

Same here. Visited 3 stores and managed to buy 6 in one of them, not a great selection.

Drat, could have called in the posh store today. I considered ordering online but the offer only applied to deliveries by the 10th and there were no slots left for my postcode.
