I've picked up horrid buggy thing(s) and have been 3 days trying to get rid of it. Partial successes work for a while then I get refestered. If I can't sort it, will have to take the m/c to my man and may be offline for a few days. |

Something keeps chsnging my settings. All my saved passwords keep getting unsaved and AVG no longer shows up when I turn the pc on. It still works though, just hidden away in the background. |

Hah! my buggy got into AVG files and stopped it working, also my NVidia settings. Things disappear, don't work etc. Also Web pages leap out of nowhere randomly. I am fighting an organised retreat expecting to loose this one in the end. Working perfectly at the mo. |

P.S. There is a very recent AVG update available (this PM) might be worth getting. My m/c went a bit crazy whilst the download was ongoing. Said I was unprotected and red boxes appearing. |

Run that update for 2011, and you're looking at a bigger direct debit. That scary nonsence was a Norton ploy a few years back, I'm sorry that AVG stooped that low, I respect them. I'm staying with - please email if you want to know. Also running with HSBC's free Trusteer Rapport in the back office - which specifically removes the line hook and sinker from bank fishers. BTW Virgin's claim to get remotely anywhere near 20 meg BB if you are near a BT Infinity exchange or fibre optic Tool Up is the biggest load of Bull Poopie I know. Virgin's cable speed is OK though, near 50% of the claim. Something keeps chsnging my settings Yeah, if your service provider is recalibrating their speed issues, and charge rate bands, and you are on a general 8 meg tops BB speed at old prices - you may find you laptop, thinkpad, or whatever, completely looses it's IP if off for several days, and you have to re-configure you wireless connection to your router. It's a game, cos you may have to phone the techy number if you know sweet FA, and they'll talk you into bigger direct debits each month. Edit again - Goose The yello, blue, red and green cushions forming a square icon should be resident on the tool bar in the bottom right corner - next to the time if you are using classic desktop |

That's where AVG was but now it's gorne and I cannpt get it back. This all happened after I downloaded a big Microsoft update last week. As well as passwords disappearing I now have to go into Google to access my Hotmail account. If I clicked on an email address Hotmail would bring up the write email screen but now Microsoft tells me that I have no email accounts but when I go to Hotmail via Google I am still signed into Hotmail. I downloaded the AVG update wih no problems. I don't think this is a bug just Microsoft overwriting my settings. |

Iv'e deleted a huge amount of BP and reckon I'm just about drawing at the mo. Worked perfectly this AM apart from the pop-up web page I deleted it's registry entry bu still thay came, I'm back to starting in safe mode now. Am about 8 levels deep in the registry searching for oddities that my AV software can't find. |

Try Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. I find it clears up a lot of that sort of stuff that the big AV products don't touch. |

Glad it seems to have done the trick. I've never had the Blossom Hill, but I actually quite like White Zinfandel |

Draaaaat, they're back. Not the web pages but the desktop killer. Searched again for the original which I had removed and found 12, yes 12 copies of it hiding all over the shop. Takatakatakatak...I need a drink. |

Have you tried system restore. This has worked for me twice when my desktop had been taken over by a fake anti virus scam. AVG and Tribs Antmalware link found nothing and all seems well again. |
