One of my items was down to 4 bottles in stock  so I had to make the order. Went with the Ripasso.

Ok that's it. No more wine purchases until the new year. Unless ...

Yep, honest  .

This week I have purchased 40 bottles during the round of 25% off any 6 offers and the new Maj offers. Besides its only about 7 weeks away.

BTW, I picked up one of the Lustau Anada 1990 Oloroso. I can't remember the last time I drank sherry. Will let you know what I think.

Yup, WR were too late for me. I grabbed loads elsewhere but won't last me until the new decade. There will probably be Xmas deals as well.

7 weeks is < 50 in Ba's book - and, That makes a gaping hole in many cellars

I'm a bit more pedestrian, being a leg man.

I will continue to acquire as we proceed to Crimble, weirdly enough, it's one of the few inflation beaters in my life. My sweat and toil savings are going backwards, and many of my vintage shares are still below chart datum.

They don't encourage you, this lot - nor the oafs before, do they !

So I have a selection to approve - Tribs, you've done a lot of diligent work, any french ladies and a few entertaining gentlemen have you / had you speculated over, earmarked or researched at WR ?

Thanks.

I am more pedestrian too. You'll notice its rare a bottle doesn't make it to a fourth or fifth day.

The only french are a couple more of the 07 Haut de Pavieres and an 07 Joncier Lirac.

I scored a couple Norton Privada 06 that I had tried to on the last WR 25% offer that ended in tears. Also a couple Jim Barry Clare Valley Shiraz Cab. Both these are now out of stock. The Barry was the one with only 4 bottles left earlier.

A couple of the Wachau GV 09 I enjoyed a couple of months ago. Wente Chard 08, WR Maipo Cabernet 06, FF Malbec Reserve, Montgras Quattro and last but not least, the last (in my local store) of the 09 Renwicks.

A single case from the web and the rest in store (where I wanted to make sure of the vintage).

Should keep me busy.

The Wachau and Wente are now also out of stock online. It pays to be quick with these offers. I got my fingers burnt last time so I made sure I was one of the first out of the blocks this time around.

Yes thanks Mel and Tribs.

The lustau 1990 has great reviews, and those choices Tribs, are a very eclectic mix If I may say - most interesting, I need to broaden my horizons, I may check out Shelmerdine PN as well. I'd better get up there early tomorrow, and look at the Craggies as well.

There's probably a disclaimer statement in the small print for online buying, to cover that fundamental deviation from trade description.

Tasting note from last year for Choc Block

55% Syrah, 20% Grenache Noir, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cinsault and 4% Viognier.
Nicely minty on the nose. A good wine, but the alcohol is hot and the price is silly. 14.29%
