no experience here I'm afraid Richard.

Mixed reviews on Cellar tracker too but generally good with the odd guy giving a negaitve skew

Where do you ffind all these mmature offerings for a good price ?
Take it you have a good relationship with your local IWM...

Hi, sorry for not replying was in Manchester yesterday sitting a Cisco exam !!

Purchased from a Merchant along with some other wines.
John Merriman 2007 at £7.50 seemed a decent price and have never tasted this wine. Looks like I need to keep for another 5+ years though.
Also had some 01 Ch Pegau which has fantastic reviews.

Will report back once the occasion to open three in a line comes along.

Regards
Richard

Did you ever get through those bottles of Cloudy Bay you'd left on the racks ?

No still in the cellar !! Had a move around last weekend trying to keep vintages together.

I need a gathering or a good meal / offliner to open them, would prefer to open with like minded wine nuts !!

yeah, know what you mean there.
Have a few bottles I'd like to share with others but very few of my friends have a clue about what they like.
s'pose it'd be a good opportunity for them to educate themselves

I'll be interested to hear what happens to a 15-20 YO MSB.
Hope the words sherry or vinegar DON'T spring up

That would be Domaine du Pegau CNDP '01 would it ? Richard. How is it that you just drop that comment in passing....... If there's a choice Rich, and my business was capable of paying big divi's, fat chance, then I'd prefer an easier, perhaps a softer vintage.

Crikey, a damn serious CNDP, built to last, very traditional architecture and not for the faint hearted.

We didn’t really want the Olympics until we heard that the French might get it.
Never a truer word. An opinion echoed by 75% of those paying the London council tax.

Forgive me kind Sir for the wind-up, I've edited

Duncan,

Hi, got my delivery yesterday and noticed they have sent the 03 Pegau.

I have had a quick look on cellar tracker and this seems a more rounded wine.
Would you keep or call and get the 01 swopped over ??

Lost the half crown post though ?? half crown for the Tulloch or Pegau ??
Both are excellent top notch wines so must be linked to another cryptic message.

Also picked up one of favourites Musar 1990 red, surely no one can dish this wine can they ??

Rich, I only know the Dom Pegau from the past, when it was more affordable. I dont know the 03 - but have drunk the '98 and '96, and maybe a 1990, and these only bin end singles and a clearance at Wizzard wine when they folded in the early nineties.

For me though, their error in sending you the 03 is an extremely fortunate accident in your favour.

Talking CNDP, The Cuvee de Vatican 03 was much fuller and riper and less hard than the '01 and therefore much more versatile for easier pleasure.

You are a having a great run of luck. Enjoy, and write after you've tried one. The 03 may have less shelf life - dont know ? but it will be approachable to many guests.

Duncan,

Hi, will keep the 2003 now as it does seem a more approachable vintage.
