Called in Waitrose earlier and they had most of the offers shelves stacked ready for the next round of offers. There were a good few spanish wines on there including

Ibericos Crianza
Cune Monopole
Castillo La Paz
Palacio de Bornos Verdejo
Gran Fuedo
Anciano GR
A couple fo Frex standard and the Elyssia
Plus Taboexa Albarino

Other notables included
WIP Barossa Shiraz
Zalze SMV
WIP Chablis
Henry Fessy Brouilly

Will certainly be trying those last two. The WIP Chablis is on the 09 plate in my store.

They put the odd wine on the shelves when they are not discounted under a "customers choice" or similar label but most of those should be on offer.

As a side note the Bishops Cropwell Organic Stilton from the Deli counter is bloomin delicious. Bishops Cropwell is one of my favourite Stilton, but the Organic one in WR is the best I have tasted. It has even started to go a bit funky like well aged Camembert. Delicious. 20% off at the moment too.

I've just noticed, Mel has got these up on the offers page already. All except the Barossa Shiraz confirmed. Nice one, Mel.

Yep, Thanks Mel :)

* Craggy Range old renwick '09 which is wonderful and very minerally
* The Henri Fessy Brouilly - must be '09 Gamay - could be good, I will report
* Crozes on the '07 from the Tain Co-op is a must try - should be better than previous year, and the year before that....the '05 was bit hard.
* Duval-Leroy premier cru shampoo is always great after some cellaring, dancing and delicate light touch, and lovely small & persistent mousse last time.

My initial flick-thru choices - I am so damn pedictable  I should get out more

Those two were on my list too. I was hoping no-one would mention the Old Renwick  as it might be a few days before I can get to my local. There weren't many on the shelf to start with and that is a decent discount.

The Brouilly was 09 in my store

If I had the choice then that's what I'd go for. I'm pretty sure there is 09 only in my local store.

It looks like the website has finally caught up  but no sign of the Old Renwick being on offer.

Mel, are you able to shed any light?

Hmmnn - yeah - odd !

Thanks for doing the footwork Paul.

I was going to wander down to my bijou local Waitrose later, and check out my little cluster. However.....

Was the Henri Fessy '09 Brouilly on offer ?

It was indeed. I have one in my possession

Only wine that did not appear on offer from Mel's list was the Renwick

Paul, on the OR sb, I'll check 1st thing in the morning, and report back by email if positive.

Have You decided to give the Brouilly a go tonight ? I really enjoy ripe Bouilly, ripe gamay and earth = yum, even more so after some cellaring.

BUT, a big but, is this a dumb modern style ?

So it'll be Friday at least before it is opened. I need tomorrow to recover. I will let you know then.

Great beers there, looked thru the list of wares. Good to see so many independent brewers having a good time with their ales in the north west. One caught my eye, "what's in a name" The Doff Cocker.... eh ! doff's cap.

On the Waitrose front:

Old Renwick '09 not on offer
The Tain co-op's Crozes Hermitage is all 2008 :(
Gamay '09 HF Brouilly, not ticket listed on the shelves, none to be seen.
