When I bought the 2007 it was £9.99 (11.99 less £4 for a pair or more). Mark the manager in Reading pointed me in this direction, when I started on about white burg prices.

I have now tried at home after 7 months laying down time: A bit of creamy sophistication, but then such fruit power on middle palate. Extraordinary on the '07 vintage. Knocks the socks off the last NZ chardonnay from central otago, it is more intense, more dimensional and very good length for the money. Starts off Spanish falling lemons, the ripe ones on the ground in Andalusia, then very ripe yellow melon, then very ripe pink grapefruit, with a tiny bit of pith, then that lenght with mineral stone nuances.
This is good wine, a very ripe style from the southern burgundy Mâcon area next door to Pouilly Fuisse. Not so minerally as trendy PF, but much more fruit and cut to the palate than the last two I've had.
Good acidity, fresh, just don't notice the oak, it is so discreet, that some may say it is unoaked - but the Misses said it was too "stongly flavoured" for her. She hates and hates, the oaky and oily californian ones
Half demi-sec on exit, so no drying out probs with cellaring for a while.
This is ready, however with this level of fruit power, it is a candidate for further dimension cellaring. Yummy wine, white burgundy which is good. Nuts may come with age, but who cares with all the other bits and pieces going on. Gets a star in my book - but that book is narrow.
Watch out NZ, this is nicer chardonnay. Dunc very pleased he did not open another bloody MSB last night, when he wos thirsty
New World folks could be talked into loving this '07 right now, later, who knows ? Who cares
