This has the making of a good Pauillac. http://www.marksandspencer.com/Rothschi ... B003H86T66 Good till 2015 - could be ready now ? Not tried. Better later, would be a fairly safe bet * '05 * Fruit sourced from chateaux: Mouton Rothschild, Clerc Milon and d'Armailhac * Made by respected Bordeaux winemaker Guy-Henri Share with a friend ? 3 each ? Should actually taste like proper pauillac if you've never tried this style of claret. _____________ 1600 & one |

That statement is not on the front label when you mag it up Pontac - can you throw any light on what Trading Standards regard as the definition or interpretation of mainly More importantly, does the wine taste of good pauillac ? The 3 cru classe properties are all in the northen part of the appelation around Le Pouyalet. How much of the wine is pettite chateau pauillac ? To be within the definition [mainly] chiefly . A half decent pauillac at this price is quite rare these days Generic pauillac from lesser properties in lesser years is this sort of money. That's why I shoved up the link. They've pitched it right None of us will be seduced by prestige names, and furthermore, we are all very aware that the blended cuvee will be left overs from the second wines made at these 3 prestige properties plus other pauillacs. The wine has a lot of promise when from that stable and that vintage, and you know me....I will only post a heads up link when I know the retailer has a returns policy that I have tried and tested. |

I think you should trust your own acquired knowledge and judgement, go for it Dunc, like you say- if it’s naff, it goes back. My overall experience of 'budget Bdx' is poor, that's why I tend to give these 'deals' a miss, however this wine should offer a little more given the price and producer. A little more what? That’s the question. |

I don't want to be over-trusting, but I don't think M&S would pull a fast one. |

Cheers Mel I don't want to be over-trusting, but I don't think M&S would pull a fast one. Exactly. That offer is a heads up for claret folks. Too right GK ........A speckle of more in the middle rank can be rediculous dosh, or luck and research. Sir, you reminded me yesterday that my stocks are far too high, if I should be lost at sea, I'd want 3k + at auction on a reasonable day, I've been hoarding vintages. I need to make myself open some of them - how weird is that I'll have to find a buyer to share. |

The 'mainly' word appears on the description, there is no statement about where the grapes are from on the label shown on the site. However .... The wine label misspells the word APPELLATION which I find surprising... |

Indeed Mr Pontac, so did I in writing my 2nd post on the matter. However, my self esteem and ego responds that it is clearly a keyboard issue here, and a typo A 2nd oops today |
