Good man GK, you broke the end of month Wednesday impasse’ today

Q. Is that a "mag up" error in MS pic editor, or are the sides of the label faded pale blue or pale grey ?

That's simply the white label fading to shade.

Montes Alpha.

I thought I recognised it. I had the Cab Sauv last night.

No need - that one may go into the Bacchus dictionary,

Hey tribs, how is the Montes cab drinking these days ? Say compared to that '06 Marg that you enjoyed the fragrance of, the other day.

Well the last drop of the Marg on day 4, the fruit started to come alive. Before I was jokingly referring to it as oak in a glass. Beautiful freshly cut oak mind. I bought another bottle on 25% off for 6 to put away for a while.

The Montes cab is drinking very well. TN from night 2. Mint on the nose with a hint of spice. Tangy dark fruit and a lovely long dry finish. Very well made but unmistakably chilean. I'm going to pick up a couple more on the Tesco offer.

Day 4 ?????
I had almighty trauma understanding Day 2. Did get some good info therefrom. Opened several different options rather that having to finish the bottle. Day 4 n'existe pas.

which Vintage was this ? 06 or 07 ?

I finally managed to find a Tesco stocking it last night so bought 4 bottles of 07..

A lot of CT tasting notes seem to say its a bit oak heavy (maybe didn't seem so after the Marg you had been drinking :)) and that probably best kept for a couple of years or at least decantered for an hour or more.

Jay Miller gave the 07 it 91pts and said will drink well to 2019 !

Shez,

You've done the look-up work - cheers mate.

*Conchuara valley - (spelling) in Rapel region

Was the '07 best recent MA cab ?
Price in Tesco store at the mo ?
Any better vintages that may be found on the shelf ?

cheers

It was the 07 and it is oak heavy. Was too much for the wife but I like oak. Will be better with a bit of time for sure
