Don't get me started on billion either. It's 10^12 not the wimpy yanky 10^9.
This definition gives a billion secs as 30,000 BC and a billion mins as 2 million BC
Oh! yes, and "a" decade has just ended, (one ends every day), "the" decade ends 31 Dec 2010.

The EU have followed suit with the Yanks - a while back wasn't it BA ?

So a billion is formally accepted as, 10 to the power of 9

Well everyone:- The tax payer put 195 x 10 to the power of 9 sterling into the banks, and now top execs are awarding themselves bonuses on the gains made from dishing it out at 10 - 12 times the MLR rate. Easy gains Huh ?
UK small and medium sized businesses are paying strong money for working capital. HBOS workers lost their jobs.

UK tax payers own 84% of RBS, but have no power - Go figure.
