What willl happen if I mow my lawn today. It's 6-8" high and covered in leaves. However, sunny, windy day has made it the driest it has been since about November. No frost. Blades on highest and go for it? Or close curtains, light fire and watch christmas backlog. |

Remove the leaves, because they are taking light from the grass roots. You have a rotary blade mower - right, not a cylinder mower ? Cut the grass to the very highest you can, say 4 inches, no scalping. and suck up the leaves at the same time. Try to cut it on a night when there is no frost. It is bloody cold here today - minus a huge amount it feels - Icy. Yes - You must pick a dry day - So - you have to compromise in one way or another. You'll be alright |

I'm generally very good with my cutting. I have a scarifier and I do about three "end of year" cuts to get every single leaf up, then it looks smart for the whole winter. Haven't been out there since Sept, apart from overflow from wake, when my embarrassment at the length of the grass - 3 months ago - was blurred by other considerations. New year, new me, new lawn. |

I don't believe it - I'm the only anal one who does that New year, new me, new lawn. New Year - Normal Me - Thinking bout a glass or three I got another job finished at 18:00, so time for a reward. Client gets nice tax divi, and is a V. happy chappy - I called him to hear the sound of...... 3rd day of Twenty Ten is good - flipping Freezing tho - hands drop off weather. Ba - Do you know what a scarifier is ? - Scares moles away perhaps ? For removing dead burglars from the borders, and chopping them up into tiny pieces - blood and bone for the roses ? Anything else ? - quite useful really |

Absolutely freezing in Stroud. Never got round to the lawn. Perhaps tomorrow. Saw Sherlock Holmes - quite good. |

Potentential for a series of films there too Robert Downey Jr doing well for himself with this role and the Iron Man role (if you haven't seen it already I'd highly recommend you watch it for his character alone - roll on Iron Man 2!!) |

He's a very attractive man (although a bit twitchy as himself) but great relationship between Sherlock and Watson. I'd like him to have washed a bit more, but the dirt was atmospheric. |

and looks like a Holmes 2 is on the cards too judging by the ending. Guess there's potential to make a good few more if you go by the books written |
