A thread suggestion from GK - a good one.

Perhaps there's a use for a thread on 'Brands' that are worth buying?

Off the top of my head...
Peter Lehman
Wyndham
Berberana
Ravenswood
Penfolds

Can I add

Leasingham
Marques de la Concordia
Louis Jadot

ooh there are loads, and I can't think of any more.

Lowering the tone a little. Of the cheapies, I have found Chilano / Chileno to be consistent and usually good value.

Cono Sur of Chile for their absurdly inexpensive but very lovely pinot noir and for their Vision sauvignon blanc.

Montes for their sauvignon which needs to be new vintage to be at it's absolute best.

Dashwood of NZ for their lovely and inexpensive Marlborough sauvignon.

Tesco Finest for their Provence rose, Chablis, Pouilly Fume, Semillon, Great Western riesling.

On my banned list. Sainsbury own label. Villa Maria, Oyster Bay, any white Bordeaux label, all as in ALL South African brands.

What constitutes a brand? Jordan, Meerlust, Hamilton Russell - all brands - all stunning.

Fair point.

I think of brands as being - At the bottom end. Blossom Hill, First Cape, Hardy's Varietal Range etc. At the top end, Montana, Montes, Cono Sur, Tesco Finest, Sainsbury TTD etc

Things like Springfield and Jackson Estate although they are brands just a bit pricey and for most people special occasion wines.

Btw...The Warwick Professor Block sb at Waitrose and The Springfield Life From Stone at Booth's are next on my list of sb's to try.

I can't order until next year though aS I am already starting to fill the garage with unopened boxes.

Oh for a celler !

A stunning brand for you Ba

It makes quite a lot of irritating noise.

It's all right Ba, you can look now, no need to turn off your sound card.

That link is going down the pan. Not putting my name to such dross

Ba, please edit that link - Such dross is not allowed on here, even the mention of it was grubby.

Cheers.
