I will swap you. Your stuffing recipe for my giant Yorkshire pud recipe. Works every time Take seven large dessert spoons of plain flour put in a mixing bowl. Add about a ten pence piece size of salt and whisk in. Crack three eggs and add to the flour (dont mix in) Then add half a pint of milk maybe touch more. Whisk the lot up till the mixture drips off the whisk. Then add another spoonful of plain flour and fold into the mixture let the mixture stand. Your pudding tray should have had a drop of oil/fat in the compartments and put into a hot oven till the fat/oil was starting to smoke. Take out the tray and add the mixture (which should sizzle as it hits the fat. Place carefully back into the oven and watch these babies rise and i mean rise!!! |

Yes yolks and whites. As for how many it depends on the size of your compartments. We usually get about 10 from this at double the size of a typical Aunt Bessie. Oven temp between 220 and 230 |

As someone who comes from Yorkshire and considers her YPs better than anyone else's, the most important thing, of a few important things, is DON'T OPEN THE OVEN ONCE THEY'RE IN. Going away for Xmas this year and just not playing the game at all. Yawning, gaping lack of Pete much wider while world full of joy. Leaving very butch burmese cat to deal with burglars. Actually, on strength of burglars' deviousness, will get someone to come and live in as joy of being away likely to be diluted by coming home to break in. Have friend with less than perfect marriage who is threatening to move in if he does ONE MORE THING!! |

I like to have 1 (or 2) BIGGG ones with Beouf Burg. IN it. Does one have a pudding wine with this? |

GK wrote: Its a wonderful life on TV, again. I'm running out of socks. Yeah - same here. Been saving fossil fuel on short journeys, and getting thru shoe leather like mad. Most socks I pull out of the airing cupboard, look as if the moths only like the flavour of the heel. |

Mel, know what you mean on the 1st part, sorry about Pete, you're right, it is best to be with ole friends for the festivities. For many years, a party of us would go to Royston Vasey, or similar. Even Quimper several times, drive, ferry, drive., everyone saying they know a better route Must be a proper french pre-war ugly pile - cheap, (not some English owned done up job) really weird decor taste in rural Brittany, always good for a laugh, and interest ! - but now all our kids are grown up. Also now - well since the millenium, the bloody burglars are all over the place, and finding house sitters is impossible. Need an aligator in the back garden, a deep pit with trap door at the side, at the front, scorpions who like hiding around the brickwork will do nicely. |

In answer to the original question. The planning and execution of "the meal". Getting just the right present. Last year a 50ft hosepipe on a wall-mounted reel, once a sack truck, always excellent stationery. Bread sauce, nuts, YPs. Love. Damn, |

Christmas is for the kids. I love boxing day. Long walk on the beach. The pub with mates. Cardiff City or Cardiff Blues v whoever. Home for a fantastic cold turkey and sausage sandwich spread with either beers or sparkling wine. And then fall asleep in front of yet another Shreck dvd. |
