Goose, I think ......
It is worth looking at the stars, just once more for the last 5 years, including your very favourite for the 2007 harvest. If only To compare ones memory to the offerings we find on current UK shelves.

It is probably early days to compile the stars for 2009. But no doubt, for the next six months, we shall find some that properly satisfy, and then see if Bob has assessed them.

Memory is very contrasting - I find myself exagerating the superlatives of the stars and rubbishing the ordinary.

Villa Maria Clifford Bay Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2007 94 points

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 6 Oh! Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2007 94 points

Forrest Estate James Randall Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2007 94 points

Vavasour Awatere Valley Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2009 94 points

It is noted that Vavasour is leading the way for 2009 (the Reach being their Heinz 59 varieties blend) I think - getting to the source of the Reach ?

Looking back - Mel and I have not tasted the 2007 Block 6 Oh - only the lesser 2008. And laithwaites had the Forrest Estate on the UK marketing Stonewall Label for 2007, which I immensly enjoyed, but all gone :(

We want the Vavasour Awatere '09 on the correct Vavasour label - please. Goose are you going to track this down ? Stupid Question

Vavasour is sold by Majestic. I haven't tried it but will buy the 09 when it comes in.

Vavasour also make Dashwood at Oddbins. I note that Wither Hills has only 82. Bacchus is in hiding already

Sir Bob leans towards the '07 wines, he marks them highly overall.

It does seem that way.

I have found them riper than the '08's and a few '06's I've had last year, and therefore, I am happy to fall in line.
