The Wine show: www.wineshow.co.uk 22-25th Oct at Business Design Centre in Islington (N1)
I've got tickets for the Thursday night.
If anyone if interested and wants to know how to get a discount on 2 tickets pm me.

Decanter Fine Wine Encounter. 21st & 22nd Nov at Landmark Hotel on Baker St
I'm going along on the Saturday.
Regularly go to Decanter's tasting days as they do tend to have a very good line up.

Perhaps we should go as a group to the Decanter FW Encounter. Could we stay and have supper. I have a sister with a spare bed, but it'll only fit me. Does anyone a) have the date free and b) have accommodation?

Might be fun. How would we find a restaurant that Bacchus could enjoy. I won't do fast food.

No way, after living in London for 12 years even the thought of copious amounts of free wine couldn’t draw me back to the dump, er sorry, place.

I'll wait for the next event in Brum.

way to kill a reasonable suggestion from Mel there mate !

What part of London were you in ?
Of course every city has its favellas and tourist hotspots but you can't go writing off London just like that!
....and then to imply that Brum is less of dump...

anyways, don't want this turning into a regional debate.
Lets stick to the thread

As said Mel, I'm gonna be there and altho will be bringing clients and friends along would happily tag along with any members of the gang here.

Will come if we - the Forum - can make up a team, but don't want to impose on your already formed group.

Fair enough Shez, its just Ive become a country bum now, cant stand city's anymore, especially London. My problem, I know. I can just about tolerate Brum as the travelling is limited. I should probably seek help. Or not.

Can one of you remind me how to cut and past a picture into the posting box on the Forum. Nicolas are having an event on 7th Nov (sorry, in London) showing 200 French wines. Think it's free, and I can take as many people as I like.

Invitation to follow, after lesson.

Well it wouldn't be imposing at all.
if none of the others can make it you're still more than welcome to join us. can probably get a free ticket your way (watch the flood gates open now :) ).
...Besides, how good would I look if I could introduce a future master of wine to people at the wine tasting

tbf, I now live on the outskirts of London just within the '25 so have the best of both worlds: easy enough access into town or easy access to the garden of England and some greenery/coastline.
Commute into city every day tho and still not fed up with City life after 13yrs of it

Why didn't you wave back yesterday Shez? I don't do fast food either. Had a Macthingy once, and KFC once. Never again. Do like a nice bag of chips though, but good ones are hard to find.

to paste an image it needs to be hotsed online somewhere.
if it is a pic from a website type ""

If it is a pic you have on a personal folder I think you have to hosting on an image hosting site like tinypic.com and then use thee above procedure

Sorry mate. was stuck in the city til 1:30 am work and then hosting a client poker night (which started very well and finished not so well in terms of my chip count)
What you doing making a massive cross country trip like that in a day?!
Next time I'll have a banner ready at the mouth of the Dartford tunnel

Pal in the m***e. Noblesse obliged. Car blew up (even older than mine) and was a write off. He had luggage, a bike, a computer and other bits and pieces but was sans pennies.
