I've not seen or tried the wildcard reserve shiraz or sem-chard.. Is this just PL trying to their more basic wildcard entries sound plush? Have had the basic wildcard shiraz before and quite enjoyed it in the past: nice easy glugger... Does anyone have any idea on how many bottles of the 2005 sem was produced? Have had 3 bottle sitting under the stairs for a couple of yrs now yet all my local Tesco stores still have the '05 on the shelf

Oddbins also have the 2005. I haven't seen the 06 or 07 anywhere. Tesco have the 2008. An early harvest wine with only 10.5 alc. It's typical new vintage semillon. Very rich with custardy/oaky flavours which will need about a decade to mellow into something worth drinking. The 05 is a bit inconsistant. Some bottles i've opened this year are developing well and some still seem like new vintage. I'm keeping the rest of mine for another 18 months at least. As for how many bottles were made. I don't know but I guess about 3 trillion
