I’m off to Pembrokeshire for a week, leaving in the morning. 8)

In hope that the sun will shine I have marshalled the following to join me.-

Jackson Estate '07
Vergelegen SB '08
Domaine Raimbault-Pineau Cuvée Cassandra '07
Château Sénéjac '04, Haut-Médoc (for the lamb)
TTD Coonawarra Cab '04

Add to this a crate of Marstons Pedigree picked up at Home Bargains for less than a pound a bottle.

Behave yourself guys, speak to you next week. :P

Never tried the Katnook Cab, but that Château Sénéjac '04, Haut-Médoc should do the trick for the lamb

Is this a cottage hideout GK ?

A very nice drop, a pack leader at the £6 price.

The Raimbault-Pineau Pouilly-Fumé was delightful, complex and leafy but fell away by the second night, shame.

Didn’t get around to opening the Vergelegen.

The TTD Katnook was a touch angular, not a patch on the 02/03 which were better balanced at 13% abv but still nice.

Normally the new vintage has 'petillance' , but of the 2007 ! GK, may be the zingyness got to you when on holiday :wink: Goose may know.

GK - Which one of us is going to risk this one ? It hast just been wheeled out yesterday. From the prices you quote at T, your In-Store prices are regionally much cheaper than mine.

2003 Petite Chateau Graves from the south near Cerons. The retailer's claims so called Expert Opinion for 2003 do not refer to Graves, except classed growths and expensive Pessac etcetera which made huge concentrated wines. For PC's, 2003 was an inconsistent vintage when away from the cooling effects of the river. Hmnn, this Chateau is a 2nd wine of the more reputed Château d' Archambeau for white Graves. The Cab, Merlot and Franc vines were planted there in 1982. - quote David Peppercorn.

However:

It could be quite OK, ripe and full. There is no ugly brett in 'small time' Saint Estephe and Pauillac that I have, the sweet fruit helps to keep it away. The full retail at £16 is OTT. unless the shipper expects over a tenner per bottle storage costs since late 2005 !

I think GK got so drunk he confused the JE with the Sainsbury TTD Cava he brought for Mrs GK.

I'll bet it was pink Cava as well

Nope, deffo a touch of delicate spritz, a lively wine.

I do find this quite often in NZ SB's.

As for pink cava, the lady doth protest too much, methinks. :wink:
