Post subject:  Sulphites

I wondered if you or anyone reading this post could recommend some white wines (Sauvignon Blanc, unoaked Chardonnay, dry fruity but not floral whites) that are sulphite free.

My partner enjoys white wine but the sulphates play havok with her asthma.

Many thanks

as you'll know, sulphites are used to preserve wine, which deteriorates after 12-18 months without them, especially white wine. i'm afraid i can't come up with a particular wine that is sulphite-free (or sulfite-free if you're american) but have you tried Vintage Roots? they specialise in organic wine, which is generally lower in sulphites anyway, and could probably help. their website is www.vintageroots.co.uk

Thanks for your feedback and direction. I'd not heard of vintageroots, so I'll give their website a shot and see how we get on.
