Before this recalcitrant lot started to bankrupt me, I bought both in 6s whenever on offer.
The Reserva is a bit like sprite without the bubbles. The GR has more class and structure, but is still "easy drinking". Both are a nonsense at full price.

Ive just grabbed a mixed case of glugging whites, Vina Sol, CyT SB and Porcupine Ridge SB, all 2010.

These will be put to good use over the summer.

Ive also taken a risk on an online mixed case, will tell you more next week

La Chasse '09 CdR is a more satisfying wine than Bonpas '09.

The main reason is the use of very subte oak. La Chasse has more body and a superior mouth feel, Further, that subte oak lends a little opulence to the wine that Bonpas this time does not have.

This extra dimension is well worth the extra £1.

I have 3 Chasse, but one is cracked and may be oxidised by now and 2 Bonpas.

May open the cracked Chasse now and decant into another empty bottle and pop in the fridge.

Bonpas acquitted itself well the next day, It put on weight and richness, and the liquorice arrived as it had for the '07.

I don't think that La Chasse bottle will be oxidised from a fracture. The wine is not leaking, is it ? The temperature would have to swing through 8C to cause the air pocket inside to expand and then contract again, thereby pulling-in new air. The cork is composite and very good, you'd notice rose tinted seepage in the fracture. I'd put money on it being ok for now.

The newer way of storing mega expensive fine wine is at 45 degrees, keeps the cork moist, yet allows the air pocket to expand and contract without pushing wine thru the cork seal, and into the lead foil. Are we all going to go out and buy new racking ? - No, not at my my level. Others who have mega stuff will store it at professional cellars

Actually it was leaking and there were lots of bubbles forming where the air had replaced the liquid. However, I opened it and it was fine. I poured it into another bottle and drunk it over a few days. Yes, I agree with yourself and Mel. It is a good CdR which I think would probably appeal to some who do not usually care for it.
