Hi Shez,

Your gate for the new york flight has opened 4 times for boarding  When you dissembark, and on arrival at your hotel, you may wish to edit your enthusiasm for posting.
Shez the submit tab can be a slug off the blocks when your ISP is busy 1st thing, I've had to reach for the delete key at this time, but you guys weren't looking in.

Enjoy that Stag Do. Not too many Jack D's otherwise you'll get lost on the subway....

I regret, You are slightly wrong on the vintage judgements. But then Langtons will be judging the best wines as well, when they publish a composite score

Barossa '06 Shiraz is the muscular motor you want to keep under wraps in the shed till the GP. The 08's need to be tried by us here......But those more experienced than us who are on the ground in OZ - namely Langtons regional reference are suggesting a 6 out of 10 for the Shiraz that has been judged so far. 2006 was a 9

For Coonawarra Cab, Langtons are suggesting an 8 for the 2008 wines

Nota bene for Ba.
Eden Valley Riesling '08 scores a magnificent 10, a score not seen for many years. They will be released into the market about now.

sorry, was stupid iPhone hanging so I kept trying. Mel can you delete any of the duplicate posts?

Dunc, you're right 06 was a 10/10 vintage while 08 is an 8/10 (like the 02 vintage who's wines have previously had pretty good reviews)

btw, now in NY safe and sound.
7 drinkers out of group of 9 guys and duty free purchase of:
4lts Jack,
2lts Jim beam,
4ltrs Johnny walker,
1ltr bombay sapphire
1ltr smirnoff blue
all to be consumed by Sunday (already 1ltr Jack down)
Think it might get messy here....

You got enough there to get well pickled.

Get some water down between the bouts, otherwise you're gonna get a pretty sore head by Sunday  .

Cheers

Yep .... glad you like. Excellent multi dimension and depth of flavour.

Weirdly, the PL Barossa shiraz is a bit samey, a tad flat, sweet and boring by compare. Me thinks PL is selecting out more of the best fruit for his upscale shiraz wines, and it shows. Barossa basic 02 way ahead of the 06 - maybe much more time needed, or maybe rose tinted spectacles.

I dont think, well,... I'd be surprised if we will get back to the satisfaction level of the 02's and 04's at basic level. PL is moving more volume up market and in the selection process, there are some casualties.
