Mud House are a respected producer, some folks believe in their pinot noir. I will look into that offer.

Cheers Rich

Mudhouse The Woolshed Vineyard Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2010

93/100 551 Lovely wine with appealing concentration of bright gooseberry, mineral, capsicum and plenty of passion fruit flavours. Fresh and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc *from a top vintage. Great now but will continue to ** reward for many years.

Courtesy of Bob Campbell - thank you.

a) * From a Top Vintage, as we know - But what about future years ?
b) ** Is this a firm MSB that will hold

Mud House Claim 431 vineyard Central Otago NZ Pinot Noir 2012

92/100 451 Moderately rich wine with an appealing core of sweet fruit and Black Doris plum, black cherry, vanilla and spice flavours. It has a sumptuous and silken texture with a lengthy finish. Classy Pinot offering value at this price

Mud house 2012. 87 pts (bob c)
Pink grapefruit, freshly cut grass, gooseberry and passion fruit flavours with a tantalising hint of sweetness and crisp drying finish. A very appealing and polished Sauvignon Blanc that should certainly meet the expectations of Marlborough Sauvingon Blanc drinkers.

Cheers Rich,

The 2010 vintage is the fill your boots MSB, and that will not regretably be the offer at Majestic - for sure.

The CO pn is also a fave in the southern hemisphere for the price ! Bob C, compares Quartz reef and Felton Road on the same web page !

Shez,

Where are we with the 2012 ? A new one to us, and half decent - worth a punt, but I can't see this offer being the Single vineyard cuvee' "The Woolshed" . . . . . . only a visit will sort this out.

Rich,
Duncan's reviews are for single vineyard so don't rush out with the van just yet

The majestic offering is their bog standard MSB (as per the tasting note I found). The label on the majestic website seems to differ from all other images online. Surely they wouldn't pay out for a maj specific label? Think we try before we buy for this one

Edited for fat fingered spellings

Cheers Shez, thanks for further checking. . . . .

Yeah, agreed, not the flagship wine, however, worthy of further investigation and Tasting

I've had a previous vintage. It reminded me of Kim Crawford. Dry, slightly austere, full side of medium bodied ( by sb standards ) grapefruit pith flavour.

I'm expecting a raft of 'good for the money but wouldn't pay full price' reviews.

Sauvignon blanc gets much better than this.

I'm hoping that it will be better on day 2.
Aroma fine. First taste (cold) acidic, not nice at all. Improved to just acceptable after some air and a bit warmer. Went flat and stodgy when warmer still.

I reckon Goose is a bit optimistic here. Day 2 not much better. Will leave the second for a few months and see if it firms up a bit. Certainly shan't buy any more.
