Decanter 4 stars - a quite expensive Casablanca sauvignon blanc. High marks on the scoring card, and came out 3rd or 4th in the Chilean MW tasting session I believe, where over 40 wines were put before the judges.

A well made wine, very linear, balanced, but with a narrow flavour profile on 1st opening. All the usual suspects for good Chilean SB, but lacking the stone fruit, tropical fruit and passion fruit profile that we've come to expect at this price level from a Marlborough sauvignon blanc

The wine was £10.99 on the 2011 vintage, but Waitrose/ Ocado were offering £3 off a bottle recently, so I bought to try at £9.49.

If you buy to drink on the day, then I would say that this wine will be excellent with a variety of starters that you would serve with a good Loire SB. There was little to love on 1st opening, yet a very clean and pure wine is presented, perhaps a bit hard / dry on the finish. Don't get me wrong, this is a superior Chilean offering, and made from fruit grown in the best Casa terroir, "they say".

On the third day, the wine offers much more pleasure, and I particularly enjoyed the last glass. I would have to lay one down for say a further 12 months or so, to form a solid opinion.
