.....2007

Picked up from co-op for £5.
Oddly it was quite smelly on the nose which initially worried me that this was a duff bottle but thankfully very nice in the mouth
Still holding on to some sweetness with some apricot and marmalade notes but lashings of acidity to imply there's plenty of time for this to keep going
I liked this a lot so went and grabbed a dozen

Yeah, I generally prefer the Rhienhessen rieslings over the Oz ones. You have another real bargain there. Grabbed a dozen :) you should be so lucky. You may be pleased to know that 2007 was a respectable vintage.
I need to make another trip out to the large Co-op I know.

I'm jealous of your co-op hauls.

I have been very lucky so far this year. I've noticed some of the co-op discounted wines have returned to their rrp now so it might all be coming to an end for the year

The Riesling was in a medium sized store so you may find something somewhere
A lucky guy on cellar tracker called Kevin H picked these up a year or 2 back for £3 a bottle !

Shez, I'm looking up on Wine Searcher, to identify, there is also a YouTube video. The wine is £24.50 at Fine & Rare when a half case is bought !

One last trip Shez, I need to find a few more, just to get slightly near your brilliant harvest.

£24.50? Really. I thought it was more like £10-12
This is the one I've got (on an American site) http://www.winealign.com/wines/12920-Sc ... inett-2007

The link for the 2009 vintage, which is half a star higher:
http://www.wine-searcher.com/find/schlo ... ny/2009/uk

Have you noticed that UK tax and mark-ups for quality wine really do hurt us against the USA prices, even though the European wine has to go half way around the world for the north American market ! £147 for 6 excl. VAT, If I'm not mistaken. Europe does compete against California and the Oregon pinot noirs I suppose.

And yet, when Oregon pinot noir (which is fab) gets here, we get knobbled

It looks like you're looking at the auslese rather than kabinett
