Austere upon opening but opened up well after half an hour or so.. Green pepper with some underlying passion fruit. Oily texture and some leesy richness hold the flavours back but it's not bad.

VM WR kicks it up the arse, slaps it about and kicks it up the arse again so no need to buy again. I have a 2nd bottle. Will keep for late summer or give it to one of the carers.

They work their butts off and get £6 and pennies an hour and no petrol..........people like me would not be able to cope without them.

So much more financially rewarding to be unemployed and idle these days

Sorry Mel - this blog is not wine related - forgive me

You're absolutely right on that. Full time private care in your own home, costs £55k pa nearly four years ago, probably a bit less in Wales and Cornwall these days.

You are very well employed in doing what you do and you are not idle - It is damn hard work. An individual in their penultimate year, a direct relative, or son or daughter should be given 100% tax allowances on any joint income from their savings, when looking after a parent. The welfare state are saving £000,000's because of the work that people like you, do everyday.

With the tax allowances, at least you could give the carers some petrol money.

They don't get it - Do they ? I didn't get it, until I started shelling out big time, my dad's lifetime savings and my own free time as well. I lost many customers.

Keep up the good work, you deserve a decent wine for the price.

G, I'll take this down in a few days, I just want you to know that you are doing a good job for your Mum

Dunc,

It's costing me £26k per year for night sitters. God knows what 24 hr care would cost. The sitters are for me not her. I need to sleep to function in the day. I went three months without them and nearly cracked. I had a billion people prepared to help in the day. they all buggered off at night. I don't blame them. It's scary to take sole responsibility even for a few hours.

She's doing well at the moment and is drinking Prosecco with the night sitter. I've been told to leave the room for complaining about Italian wine.
