Stroud branch of Sainsburys selling Gran Reserva for £7.70/btl, same as price for Reserva (yellow label) but watch out because price at scanning was £15.99 and label on shelf was for the higher price but offer flagged up at a couple of aisle ends and (with some reluctance) I was charged the lower price. Bargain.

Lyegrove, that is a very good bargain, Do you think the marketing error is likely to be replicated in other provincial stores ?
I like Campo Viego GR, which vintage was the wine. Very nice.

Welcome back, I see you have 3 other posts. Lyegrove, are you a resident of the village, I did recognise the name, but don't know the Cotswolds very well at all, just noticed in passing, and have done some walking near that area.

Nice find! They seem to have a bit of a bin end sale going on at the moment, you got very luck with that one
Personally I'm not much of a CV fan but have only tried the criana and Reserva
I'll be interested to here your review on the GR
Which vintage? 2007?

Here's the offer as displayed in Sainsburys, may help your search. The vintage is 2007, same as the one on offer over Xmas for a tenner that was packaged in a cardboard tube. It's a league apart from the Reserva, one bottle down now and another breathing by the Aga!!

I checked the receipt today and noticed an extra bonus...I was charged for the case I bought at the "full" price and recieved a 5% discount. The supervisor then voided this purchase but the % reduction remained in the subtotal, the wine was then re-scanned at the £7 price and I was given a further 5 % of the total.

Cheers lyegrove
Looks like it may be a miss print for one label saying reserves and the other saying gran Reserva
Take it you've cleared the shelves at your store ?
Good find

*** It's a league apart from the Reserva, one bottle down now and another breathing by the Aga!! A good GR and keeps well. Thanks for the mobile pic, there is no argument in a supermarket (a wine merchant could duck the issue), they have to take that cardboard offer down or overide the till - however, the stated saving of £2.57 could muddy the waters if the store manager got involved, yet the polished pewter label on the "price flash" is correct for the GR.

*** Quite so, you know your Campo Viejo well. GR is a very significant step up for the CV rioja.

Enjoy :)
