Very well priced at several places during the latest round of across-the-board reductions. First impression was a boring dry white, acceptable at £5.50 or so. Day 2 is a revelation. Crisp, complex, Touraine-like minerally SB. Will look for more when on offer.

If the dear wife likes that SB for less than a fiver, then that is a result :)

I sincerely trust I haven't offended anyone, male or female, or those who are undecided ! But particularly no offence for Mrs Shezza and any other wives out there.

Right G. lets talk about current SB offers and best QPR (quality price ratio). I'm sorting myself out - Ok. I'm hoping you may offer an opinion - S'il vous plait.

At Majestic all of which are 33% off in the pick & mix promo.

Saint clair Estate selection 2012 = £9.99 net
King's Favour 2012 = £9.33 net
Villa Maria PB 2013 = £6.99 net
Santa Ema Res Leyda Valley 2013 = £6.99 net

What say you ? Are any of these a stand-out choice, I dont know the Ema, and VMPB is said to be more than a tad less dry on this vintage. Also, as a point of note, and a bench mark, what is the price of Villa Maria Wairau valley reserve 2012 at the mo ?

Cheers

Why offence to Mrs Shezza?

VMWR is £12.99 ( £10.99 for 2 ) at MW and Wine Rack. £9.99 for 2 at NZ House of Wine but the delivery fee knocks it back up. Of the 4 I would choose the SC ER. The basic 2012 SC was lovely. Really intense blackcurrant leaf. A few bottles had some unwelcome pith but that faded overnight. I may get some myself before we see what 2013 has to offer. I've not had Brent Maris' King's Favour or the Leyda wine.

VMPB ...Stop teasing, MrD ....you don't buy this.

Sorry GK, it's me..... not paying attention at the back of the class ! I thought I'd teased your good lady, and other bicicleta fans, clearly not so. Being cheeky now..... Low maintenance in your cellar is highly desirable

Cheers G, I now have an SB to make up a little order. My dear Misses has been spoilt, (how can one spoil one's nearest and dearest) and now that Vavasour is not available, the only MSB she actually wants are my best ones, or Montmains 1er chablis ! Otherwise she passes on any wine or has a Pimms.

As you know, a touch of pith is not unwelcome at chais Duncan.
