The blurb got me. Oh and the 25% off. Said it beat German and Alsace Rs in tastings.
Reeks of sticking plaster, tastes of TCP. Nearly spat it out on reflex. Haven't had anything this 'orrible for ages.

I thought their pinot noir was above average for a new world "Jammy" clone with a bit of smoke.

That Leyda offering is in a screw cap bottle - so maybe a faulty screw cap ? Some of those screw caps are far from tight, and designed for the limp wristed !

Viña Leyda Single Vineyard Riesling Neblina 2008
Beautifully aromatic, limey nose with some sweet, rich, spicy notes. The palate is rich and spicy with intense, herby, limey notes and some honeyed richness. 90/100

Take back, ask for another bottle, if that is cr*p as well, ask for a refund.

You may have seen this: http://www.wineanorak.com/chile/vinaleyda.htm

Anyone who says that though, without a very lengthy qualification: Said it beat German and Alsace Rs in tastings - is clearly a numb skull. Exactly what are they comparing ?

Has mellowed slightly after 24 hrs in the frij and decanting. Suppose that I might manage a whole small glass now, but as there is a choice, I won't.
