Hasn't changed much in those 5 months. Mel also mentions spritz and lemon and so do I. Mel quite likes it's raciness, but G thinks its twee tat. I'm in between. Underlying MSB characteristics but a bit too sharp / tart for me to buy more. A glass or two is fine just so long as I don't think that I have MSB in the glass. |

Actually went into my Maj for a VM pair and a nose around. Had completely forgotten the dreadful tinny muzac. Couldn't cope with that racket so left quickly and empty-handed. |

Why did nobody say it was Spritzy lemonade/lemon grass twee tat. It is Spritzy lemonade/lemon grass twee tat.. Somebody should have said so. They're all gay ! |

G, I thinking of buying Giesen "The Brothers" MSB 2009 for £9.35 (double disco) including the extra 15% discount vouther available from Ocado. I'm wanting more of the Cloudy Bay '07 & 09 / Vavasour '09 , VMWR '09 & JE'07 style. What say you ? - Do you know if the TN's for the Brothers to be reasonably accurate. BTW - a new 36 bottle wine cooler is being delivered here in a few days - to keep some of my lovely white burgundies forever young . |

Ba, my search has revealed that the Good reviews were for the Vintage 2010. Ocado are trying to move the 2009 from the warehouse. The Brothers '09 was an also ran when it was fresh ! BC scored the wine an 84 if I remember, so I've dumpted the idea of trying this old MSB. I have been drinking the VMWV reserve on the vintage 2010 this week, Lovely stuff, keeping well, and just like Mr G, I sometimes wonder why I bother trying many of the others. Curiousity perhaps. Making up an order to the 2nd tier discounts ? |

I have been drinking the VMWV reserve on the vintage 2010 this week, Lovely stuff, keeping well, Shoosh now, MrD. Your talk of lovely stuff has tempted me into buying the 2010 Saint Clair Wairau Reserve for silly dosh. Plus a Pioneer Block 18 2011 I think the 2012 VMWR needs putting away until 2015. Drinking them now is giving me only a vague hint of what is to come. Matua 2012 at Asda and Tesco online in ok but not worth buying. This is the basic not the Paretai. |

Shoosh now, MrD. Your talk of lovely stuff has tempted me into buying the 2010 Saint Clair Wairau Reserve for silly dosh. Sorry - Mr G - extreemly tempting. Shoosh - it is beautiful wine now. If serving an evolved VMWR as a dinner appero, I'd recommend decanting the wine in a flask for an hour in the larder, or cooler room. Then re-introduce into the bottle and put in the fridge for an hour before starting, or get out a cool bag and test every 10 minutes before serving. This pre treatment brings forward the fruit and body and texture, which then holds when cooled (not too much cooling, otherwise the pre-treatment retracts into an older and colder shell). Lush stuff, The 2010 gets a 94 from me. My new 36 bottle wine cooler has arrived |

I just grabbed 12 half bottles of the 2012 Giesen MSB for £1.99 each, T online. My wife likes the Giesen, I tried it briefly, it didnt offend but it was at a BBQ and I wasnt paying much attention. These half bottles are ideal for my wife who often starts a bottle and leaves a third in the fridge for cooking/sink. They're also ideal for picnics/events etc. Handy to have around, cant complain at the price. |
