Tinned strawberry as opposed to fresh strawberry so it should be sweet but it's bone dry. Like it. 100% gamay and made by Caves de Prisse in St Veran |

Do you put ice-cream in it and use a straw? |

Ba, I'm still trying to get my head around bone dry tinned strawberries. normally renowned for being gooey, very syrupy, sugary red blobs on top of squirty cream peeks in an upmarket trifle. Or is that Jane Macquerky sounding off. Goose, is it anything like ultra light beaujolais ? Does it smell of gamay. Enquiring minds ? |

It smells of tinned strawberries and is nothing like Beaujolais. This came out top in one of Mel's tastings. French rose. Twas also one of Oz Clarke's top sub £10 rose wines of 2008 Chilling brings out some sweetness. The Sancerre rose is so much better that this is best forgotten anyway. It is kinda nice though. No ice cream but she who must not be argued with did once make a rose Anjou jelly. Was fuffing horrible but no worse than the wine |
