Pinotage rose is usually a dark reddish pink with a ridiculous boiled cherry sweets flavour.

But this is a beautiful pale colour with a creamy texture and a very subtle strawberry and mineral flavour.

Dry and utterly gorgeous.

£6.19 is a lot for a pink but this is of the same quality as a Sancerre rose. So, it's good value.

IWC Silver Medal 2008..... However, not for those who like butch rose's that imitate red wine.

The 2007 was a blend of pinotage, cabernet sauvignon and syrah and really was quite lovely. The 2008 is pure pinotage and tastes of strawberries, cream and, sadly, alcohol.

Another wine bites the dust.
