Mass produced and heavily criticised as a junk wine but this is a faultless sb. Extremely light bodied but has all the flavours of a good Marlborough Dry, pale, acidic but not tart ( unlike many 2007 Loire sb's ) a grapefruity nose with grapefruit, cat's pee and capsicum flavours. 2007 was such a bad vintage in the Loire that Chenet have abandoned their reserve Touraine sb and replaced it with a reserve Cotes De Gascoigne. I have yet to find it....but it can't be any better than this. G |

It needs to be served very well chilled, cold even, to be at it's most Marlborough like. Please put up a tasting note when you've tried it. Even if it's " Yuk...go back to drinking Carling Black Label you witless plonker, this is awful." I wouldn'k ask if it was Sancerre as there is too much bottle variation but this is mass produced so every bottle should taste the same. I have unearthed a bottle of the reserve so will put up a tasting note. G ~well done on getting rid of the spam~ |
