Classic !

Lovely blackcurrent/elder flavour - light body

Much better than the Asda Extra Special made by Wither Hills.

Great price

Clearly, this one is better than the "Extra Special" version, as often happens.

Asda Extra Special New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc £6.47

Light aroma and not obviously from Marlborough. However, good acidity which gives freshness, but finishes with a sweet, flabby end.

And then the "standard one" - I just wasn't impressed by either way back in Sept last year.

Asda New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc 2007 £5.62

Typical, ripe and with a touch of tropical fruit. Slight spritz. Quite watery, bitter and flabby. Not great.

It needs very light chilling to be at it's best. Anything more and it does get a bit OTT.

I am getting used to drinking wines at cellar temperature.

They generally taste much better.

Is this because you are lucky enough to have a cellar? It's on my wish list but is likely to remain that way for a while.

No, I don't have a cellar. :(

Just a converted broom cupboard.

30m in my fridge brings a wine down to about 12 - 14c which is about cellar temp.
