Stunning southern French blend of grenache cinsault and carignon. Needs little or no chilling to be at it's best.

Palest pink and dry wild strawberry. Serve too cold and the grenache leaves a bit of of heat on the long, long finish.

Sancerre rose is very similar but not this good.

My local Lidl store says whilst stocks last, so, I don't think Lidl will be restockng when it runs out.

It's a Vin De Pays Du Sable which I think is Provence.

I wonder if the very expensive Provence rose ( Bandol ) is any better.

No, I just meant that I had seen Bandol ( Grenache - Cinsault - Mourvedre ) for £24 elsewhere ( Probably the food hall of a department store ).

Even Tesco charge a tenner for theirs

The blend is similar to that of the Provence rose. Carignan replaces the Mourvedre.

£24 would probably buy the entire contents of my local Lidl.

Bought a case of rose direct from the cellar door at Bothy Vineyard outside Oxford. Blimey, it's good. Dry as anything, fairly pale and very interesting. When it's labelled up it'll be Oxford Pink. If you get a chance, try it. Mind you, it's not cheap at just under £7, but it's beautiful.
