Intense gooseberry fruit with just a subtle hint of smoke.

Lovely !

This is on a par with the very best Pouilly Fume's that you might buy in restaurants for ?40.

?12.99 for 1 -- ? 8.66 for 3

If anybody reading this has a favourite Sancerre/ Pouilly Fume that is widely available could you reply to this post.

Ta

Jiff, Hi

I couldn't say this is my favourite Sancerre, because I'm just not in this bracket for home drinking, but it is very interesting. It has had some oak cask ageing and is very different from other Sancerre.

At a recent Morrisons tasting I thought it had a "fab, fab, spicy smell with creamy oak. Really delicious, but expensive. compares with Pessac-Leognan without the waxy fullness of the Semillon. "

sorry it doesn't help your quest for a reasonably priced one. it's got a great label, as well.
