Tesco...?9.99

I love the quaffers tasting notes, especially the justified criticisms of overlypriced and/or bland wine.

And supermarket Sancerre usually deserves all the abuse it gets.

But there are some good ones.

This might be a stand in for Tesco's slightly bland and overpriced Domaine Villiudiere as that is currently out of stock and the Paul Prieur is not as yet listed on the Tesco wine website but I hope Tesco will stock it on a permanent basis as it is a really rich and intensely grapey Sancerre.

It lacks that subtle nutty element that the very best Sancerre's seem to have but this is still good Sancerre at about the right price.
