This was shocking in 08 and has far too much residual sugar in 09 but the underlying flavour of tomato leaf and bramble is quite nice.

Like a very sweet and dumbed down Taylor's Pass.

Regretably, Taylor's pass has never passed my lips. Will this Azure wine modify in flavour in the next 12 months ?

"Azure" for a NZ Malborough label name is a bit tacky, don't you think ? Not so long ago, you'd see that name on Aftershave or whatever.

Tacky indeed and a warning to all to steer clear.

But I remembered that the underlying flavour on the 08 was good. The wine last year was spoilt by it's harshness. I thought I would give the 09 a go and it's drinkable and flavoursome just soooooooooo sugary.
